2025 LIV Golf League season to be broadcast free across ITV 1, ITV 4 and ITV X, with additional highlights package

6 February 2025 - SHANK Media, by Matt Hooper: Following the launch of LIV Golf on FOX in the United States, and a disastrous day of streaming on the LIV Golf app, ITV and LIV Golf have announced a multi-year partnership to bring LIV Golf to free-to-air television in the UK for the very first time. The schedule of 14 events will be streamed in its entirety on ITV X, with selected broadcasts on ITV 1 and ITV 4, and there will also be a weekly highlights show on ITV.
Niall Sloane, director of ITV Sport, said: “This is an exciting time for LIV Golf as we look ahead to the innovative 2025 season. This partnership delivers free-to-air coverage for fans and we are delighted to welcome LIV Golf to ITV Sport.”
Coverage will begin at 3pm on Friday on ITV X.
Tomorrow will be the first Live golf on traditional terrestrial tv in the UK since the 2017 PGA Championship on BBC, and it is the first Live golf on ITV since the mid-1980's. ITV broadcast the 1973, 1975 and 1977 Ryder Cups, and the Scottish Open in 1972 and 1973. The 14 events of LIV Golf mean that ITV will broadcast the most live golf tournaments in a single season ever by a traditional terrestrial network in the UK.
LIV Golf will now be broadcast on FOX in the United States, Channel 7 in Australia and ITV in the UK.
The landmark agreement with ITV reinforces LIV Golf’s commitment to expanding its global reach and bringing the sport to new audiences in the UK. It also signals the return of live golf to free-to-air television in the UK, providing a new and dynamic viewing experience that aligns with LIV Golf’s commitment to attract new audiences and grow the game of golf.
Fans will have the opportunity to watch some of the sport’s biggest names compete in LIV Golf’s innovative format, featuring 54-hole tournaments, shotgun starts, and the unique combination of individual and team-based competition.

Ron Wechsler, LIV Golf Senior Vice President of Broadcast Partnerships and Programming Strategy, said: "Our partnership with ITV represents a major milestone as we strive to bring LIV Golf to every corner of the world. With a premier sports broadcaster like ITV, we can ensure that more fans than ever will be able to access the excitement of the LIV Golf experience and connect with the world-class players, teams, and stories that make us a truly standalone global sports league.”
ITV’s extensive sports portfolio, which includes the FIFA World Cup, UEFA European Championship, Six Nations Rugby, the Rugby World Cup and Tour de France, as well as being the home of all England Men’s and Women’s International football, underscores its position as an established leader in live sports coverage. With LIV Golf now part of its platform, ITV will provide UK viewers with a fast-paced and engaging alternative to traditional golf coverage.
