LIV Golf relaunches website and app, closes LIVGolf+ as league focuses on forging its own identity

22 January 2025; SHANK Media, by Matt Hooper: 2025 feels like a major moment for LIV Golf, with the recent change of CEO, extending their deal in Australia with Channel 7, and the announcement of the partnership with FOX being the three most notable pieces of news as the new season approaches. But they are far from the only pieces of news. Reebok are returning to golf with Bryson DeChambeau and Crushers GC in an apparel and sponsorship deal, and HyFlyers announced yesterday that PRIMO would be supplying and selling their apparel. There feels like there is a real momentum behind LIV Golf now, and whilst many in the mainstream media, who are welded to the PGA TOUR, will continue to bash the league, its product and players, LIV Golf just gets on with their thing.

The franchises are now beginning to mature, recruiting commercial partners and growing a following - with 8 of the 13 teams now having a social media following in excess of 100,000 across the 4 major platforms, and LIV Golf itself having more than 2.6 million followers across the 4 major social media platforms. So the time feels right for a refresh, and LIV Golf has done exactly that.

LIVGolf+ has been folded into LIVGolf.com and the LIV Golf app, creating a singular destination for people to access live coverage, news and features about the league.

We in the UK are still awaiting confirmation of the destination for us to watch LIV Golf, but it seems likely that LIVGolf.com will be the place, perhaps along with YouTube and DAZN, as in the previous 2 years. With DAZN being the official broadcast partner to Riyadh Season, having major relationship with Saudi Arabia, and the Kingdom reportedly set to invest in the British global sports broadcaster, it would seem that LIV Golf could find a home across Europe at the least. Super Sport owns the rights to entirety of Africa, and Channel 7 has extended its deal in Australia.
