After a 7-month boycott of the platform, tonight I can return that SHANK is returning to having an active account on X.
On February 6 I chose to leave the SHANK account dormant in protest at the role the owner of X was playing in the US government, and interfering with the democratic processes of other governments around the world. During the last 7 months the owner of X has left his role at the US Government, and is now no longer able to directly influence policies which can harm people around the world.
The SHANK account on X has the second-largest number of followers across the entire SHANK platform, and as such it is vital for the future of the platform that we serve this audience, and explore opportunities for growth of the business and growing the audience.
During SHANK's coverage of significant professional golf events X provides us with large numbers of engagement and has seen significant growth in followers in the past. So moving forward, SHANK will return to X has a verified account, in line with other users such as GOLF.com, Golf Channel, Sky Sports Golf, Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, GolfWeek, Today's Golfer and Golf Digest, among many others.
SHANK will return to X with coverage of the Ryder Cup from Monday 22 September, before its most comprehensive coverage ever of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship launches on Saturday 27 September with '40 years of Fashion - a celebration of four decades of dunhill golf in St Andrews'.
